This post was created in collaboration with Chase Freedom Unlimited. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love that the title of this post can be read as both content (as in blog content) and content (as in a feeling of contentment!) because they are both true! I have definitely been sticking to my goals that I set earlier of traveling more in the coming months! It is making me feel both content and is providing me with more content for the blog and my Instagram. So far, we’ve been to Palm Springs 3 times, took the motorhome out once, been to Tucson and Phoenix, and are planning more trips as we speak (Hawaii!).
Because we have been taking a lot of overnight or 2-night trips lately, I have been adjusting the way I pack as well. I recently stopped bringing a suitcase and I picked up a garment bag instead. I love that I can just keep my shirts on the hangers, put them in the bag, and then hang them when I get to the hotel. Especially if we are road tripping and staying in a different place every night, it’s super helpful! Things don’t get as wrinkled and I can even organize outfits on each hanger. I also got this photo insert for my camera backpack so I can just pop my camera and cables in the top part, my dopp kit in the bottom, and the rest in the garment bag. It’s working out really well!
When I purchased the bag and the camera insert, as well as all the hotel rooms, gas, food, etc. on the trips, I have been using my Chase Freedom Unlimited cash back credit card. Since I am earning 1.5% cash back on every single purchase, I am able to parlay those savings into more travel or even for just everyday use. For me it makes sense to use a credit card for everything, and if you’re using one, you might as well use a cash back credit card. You can still pay off your statement at the end of the month, pay no interest, and get the cash back, all while you are building your credit!
Looking at the pay bills for my credit card it has been incredibly high. I soon used a credit card interest calculator from SoFi and they offered me lower interest rate. Looking at the interest rate before, it shocked me how much interest I could have saved for myself. I definitely saved thousands of money and thank god I discovered SoFi.
You may have noticed that I have also been posting more on the blog and adding tips and tricks for outfits. That is something that I have been wanting to do and I am forcing myself to do it. I will also be posting some recipes and other things such as travel photography tips and packing tips since I am really honing in on my packing techniques to make things seamless and easy.
