Palm Springs has been a favorite quick getaway for me and my wife for the last 10 or so years. We’ve been going since before it saw its renaissance so it’s always crazy to see how it has changed over the years. One thing we used to do was stay in a different hotel every time we went. We’d look on Groupon for whatever deal they had and then book it. Through doing that we discovered Casa Cody. And it has become our favorite place to stay when we are there.
This last time we went was to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were able to spend TWO NIGHTS away without our son… which is always so amazing! We spent almost one entire day thrifting. And of course we stopped at a lot of our favorite places: Tonga Hut and Bootlegger for Tiki drinks, Pinocchio in the Desert for breakfast and $4.95 BOTTOMLESS champagne, and Sherman’s Deli for HUGE slices of cake and pie. Also grabbed some Stumptown from Ernest Coffee.
This time we were there on Thursday, which is the day when the Palm Spring Art Museum has free admission after 4pm, so we were able to check out the Alexander Girard show there. It was excellent! There is also a classic car show in the area this weekend so there were a bunch of awesome Thunderbirds parked near our hotel that I was able to get some pics of.
