Well, we finally did it! After months and months of searching, we finally have gotten the style of motorhome we’ve been looking for!
It’s a 1978 GMC Eleganza II. This style has a bit of a cult following… it’s kind of like a classic car but a motorhome and a very cool way to express yourself. I have been on Craigslist and Facebook groups for the past several months trying to find one that had the balance of being priced right and being in good enough condition. After a few heartbreaks, I found this one and flew up to Portland to check it out. The guy picked me up from the airport and a few hours later, I was driving it back to San Diego!
I really wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of my Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card. The card’s low introductory APR period and special 3% cash back offer on all purchases for new cardmembers, up to $20,000 during the first year, give me the flexibility to make big cash purchases like this motorhome, while making supporting purchases with my card. This thing is from 1978 so it is naturally going to need work and new upgrades. I’ve been making all those purchases with this cash back credit card and it is really helping ease the burden!
Right now Chase Freedom Unlimited rewards new cardmembers with 3% cash back on purchases for the first year, so they challenged me to dedicate 3% of my day towards reaching my goals. So, I’m doing just that. I’ve discussed it with my wife, and now every morning I get 43 minutes (or there about) to work on the goals I have set for this year. Of course, I can have more time later in the day, but the morning is guaranteed for me for a while.
I can’t wait to take this thing on our first adventure as a family! Follow along on our journey!
